Under Current Conditions

Martin Quinn, a native of war-torn Northern Ireland, is an engineer, running his own small firm, and working on a project with enormous financial potential for his company. But his work is constantly sabotaged by an unscrupulous rival. The pressure on Quinn becomes unbearable. He stops sleeping, and seems to be suffering from PTSD. He grows increasingly paranoid and eventually lands in a mental hospital. The side story, running parallel to Quinn's personal account, is that of the principal of his child'sschool who is brutally murdered by her husband. Likewise, a lawyer whom Quinn had trusted turns out to be associated with organized crime. Thus, Quinn's paranoia seemed to make him blind to those who were actually dangerous, and yet frightened of people who were honestly trying to help him.
