Erik Hesson is a self-taught artist and writer, based in St. Petersburg, Florida. He has been captivating audiences with his unique and innovative art style, Linear Perspectivism, for years. But Erik’s journey as an artist and writer began long before he developed this new visual language in art. Erik was born on Feb. 8th, 1979 in rural Ohio and moved to the Tampa Bay area at the age of 3 with his family. As a young boy growing up, Erik was always highly-intelligent and curious, but was more interested in sports and science and was never much of an artist until the age of 22, when Erik claims to have learned how to paint in a highly-cognitive dream state; setting him on a path of exploration and experimentation in the art world. He spent years developing his style and skill, experimenting with various forms of Abstract Expressionism as well as dabbling in Geometric Abstraction and other styles like Impressionism. Through this process, Erik honed his craft and discovered a unique texture and shading technique that introduces a new way of capturing light. With this new understanding of his artistic abilities, Erik set out to create something truly special and unprecedented in the art world.
