It's 1967. The winds of change are blowing ... and about to obliterate life for Chipper DeHart as he knows it. Once a John Wayne world of right and wrong, everything's turned upside down in a tornado of social change. Coming off their championship season in high school golf, the ever-conflicted Chipper and wheeler-dealer Peachy decide to endure possible hazing as they pledge Sigma Zeta Chi, Guru Smokey Ray, along with the first ever "Greek" Kickapoo Indian, join the Sig Zetas as well, while their girlfriends try out Beta Chi Omega sorority. But when pledgeship is over, the real challenges begin. From the quagmire of Vietnam to trading middle-class traditions for the slippery slope of hippie "enlightenment", Chipper's caught in the middle, trying to lead himself, and his friends, into adulthood.
