Where's Momma?

She is in a better place. Everyone said that. But four-year old Lenny knew better. Mommy had a good place to be, and that was home, right here, with him. He knew what to do. He would go to Heaven and bring Mommy home. Third grade Lenny slammed his glass down in protest. I don't want someone else's mommy, I want my own. Running to his bedroom, crying, he slammed the door. His new mommy-to-be sat stunned, at the dining room table, now covered with milk, dripping onto the floor. Middle School Lenny bonded with his friends and formed a little gang.... of shoplifting. He idolized his friends - one for all, and all for one, forever friends. Much better than the cold indifference of home.
