Whisked Away

One summer during late high school, the life of seventeen year old David Jennings changes forever. Self-centered, egotistical, and occasionally in trouble with the law, he is livid with his parents when they decide to make him move to Darwin, Minnesota to spend the summer with his grandparents. He is depressed that he is going to miss out on a fun summer camping trip with his friends. Yet his parents insist it will do him and his grandparents well. Bored, angry, and homesick at first, he finds ways to keep himself minimally occupied by monotonously helping his grandpa with chores, and visiting the local bookstore, where he befriends the kindly store owner. Then, something odd happens. After getting busted for leaving the property without permission, David hides from his Grandpa in a tree. Suddenly, he feels his world turn physically upside down, and spin out of control. Following what happens, he wakes up and discovers that something went terribly wrong. He is no longer where, and when, he thought he was. Scared out of his mind, he is certain he has hit rock bottom. That is until he meets Tilly. Tilly has something about her - something familiar - but David isn’t sure what it is. Slowly, she helps him adjust to his new reality - and they eventually become friends. Then the two of them run into a huge problem - and they need to figure out how to work it out before it’s too late!
