Wings to Whispers

Wings to Whispers – Foreword Poetry provides an incredible opportunity to tap into all aspects of life, in a way a permit to have wings to fly. One of my poems included is titled “poetic wings” that in part addresses this ability. Like a bird flying freely over its terrain, so a poet flies freely over the myriads of encounters, persons, miracles of nature, and so on. Of course, in all of this, God welcomes our freedom to experience all of life. Once the poet lands upon a subject, it whispers imaginative thoughts. The way a bird sings, a mealy bug crawls, the sound of flowing water, the color of wildflowers, the way a caregiver cares, a great sermon, the duality of politics, and the list goes on. In light of our wings to fly, and our quiet whispers of imagination, I have chosen the title “Wings to Whispers.” In so many ways this title captures the esoteric and eclectic nature of all of my books of poems going back to 1968.
