Withheld Ambition is a book of therapeutic journaled poetry about the journey of a 19 year old facing the responsibility of making a 60-year prison sentence kind-of-choice. The poetry illustrates the author's struggle to mature into a responsible adult in a world that offers few resources or tools to help him become a man. Especially, when no one believes he can, but where his survival and sanity actually depend on it. Mass incarceration has been the solution for so long to the problems of a lost nation.
