XC: Evolution

Many of the emotional storms of Alex's early life were orchestrated by a psychotic serial killer, though the deaths around him seemed random and unrelated. To escape the most recent storm, a veritable typhoon, Alex moved across the country to attempt to restart his life. The waters ahead appearing smooth, the surprising killer shows up again, planning to kill Alex's latest girlfriend, Lauri, in front of him before ending the game by killing him. It was a near miss but Alex has acquired allies and the psycho dies instead. With a few years of hard work, Alex and Lauri build a stable life with a remarkable son and a second child on the way. Finishing his undergraduate studies, the time has come to go home again. Seldom is anything as easy as it seems like it ought to be. The President decided it was time to remake America into something whiter and more worshipful of Himself. Alex, as a son-figure to the man the President hates more than any other, becomes a target. What starts out as a relaxing vacay soon turns into a daily fight to stay alive. However, the Universe has other plans. Alex and his family are drafted to lead the charge against the President and all those who would sacrifice the sustainability of the planet for their personal greed. Not sure how to carry out this lofty goal, Alex finds he has many allies as they journey cross-country to a place sacred to many Native Americans of the central United States. And his children, far beyond remarkable, are nothing short of miraculous.
