Organized religion Satan’s primary strategy in keeping the understanding of mankind in the dark. Satan cloaks his most successful deceptions in the guise of religion. Religious people cannot even meet their own self-appointed standards, so God provided salvation. Only God is good. No one else is good. If people think they are good, then they do not see the need for a Savior. How good is good enough? Who defines “good enough?” God does. Sin is genetically in our flesh. As long as we are in this fleshy body, we will sin. That’s why Christ died for us. Salvation was provided by God because it was necessary. God can only accept that which is perfect because He is perfect. We cannot be perfect, not ever. To be saved, all that is required is your faith, your belief, your acceptance. We don’t earn or deserve salvation, yet it is freely offered by God’s grace. Religion has you doing the work, trying to earn or deserve something from whatever entity religious people point you toward. Reading through the Bible in a year is one thing, critical study of Scripture is entirely another. Seek God; He should be at the forefront of our thinking-life. We live in the age of the silent God. God communicates with the believer through His Word—He has said everything we need to hear for proper function in the Christian way of life. The more of the Word that you have processed, memorized, and stored in your soul, the more He can bring those things to mind when situations arise–He will speak to you, silently, through His Word within your soul, ready and waiting for battle. If we as Christians do not feed on the Word of God daily, we are literally starving our spirit and our soul. As food nourishes our bodies every day, Bible doctrine nourishes our spirit. “God’s Word is food for thought to be digested, pondered, and, finally, applied to our thoughts, our actions, and our lives.” it is imperative for the believer to seek God. Search the Scriptures. Let His Word dwell in you richly. As Christians, our battle lies within our thinking. This brings up the need for consistent self-evaluation because satan’s work is slow and methodical – subtle, so as to not be readily noticed. You must learn to defend yourself against the world, the flesh, and the devil by putting on the whole armor of God – Bible doctrine from the Word of God. The world, the flesh, and the devil are the greatest enemies of God, of the cross, and of you.
