This book covers the work that is usually taught in second, third, and fourth year with each chapter representing ½ a year's work. The second year's work, contained in Chapters I and II, may be used as review for children who need a refresher before moving on. Chapters III and IV comprise the third year's work and chapters V and VI, the fourth years work. Please keep in mind that in years past, Second or Third grade was the beginning of learning arithmetic, not Kindergarten. The early years were strictly for learning to read and write.Occasionally, it would be advisable to substitute current prices to vary the problems in the book. Please use this book as a guide by changing it to suit your child. Stay in one section if you have to or skip problems if your child has shown proficiency.
