As we all know, every diamond has a story and I am no exception. While growing up in the kinship care of my paternal grandmother in Kalamazoo, Mi, my life was full of chaos and confusion. My grandmother “Granny Lo” did the best she could to provide me with a decent upbringing. But like most family we faced difficulties and this forced me to learn how to survive in this cold cruel world on my own. Despite some of the traumas I had to experience in life I was a born worrier and no matter what I fought my way through and remain strong. It don’t matter how good you are raised, and what moral and values that were instilled in you, it only takes one bad decision to change the course of your life forever. At 17 I welcomed a handsome baby boy into this world. Less than three months later our lives would change forever. Understand that No matter what bad turn you make in life, My story will prove that it is not out of your reach to control your destiny. This is the story about how as a diamond in the rough , my shaking, beading, and pruning process only helped me shine brighter than ever.
