For the Record: A Memoir - 1013

My grandparents left no biographical record for the coming generations. My father was not able and my mother refuses. Because I believe each new layer of a combined families has the prerogative and the right to know about the lives of those who gave them life, and because I'm still capable of doing it, I set down the record of my life specifically for my children and for their children should they ever have an interest. My hope is that this will just serve as the beginning of many generations in which aging members express in some permanent way the events, decisions and relationships that impacted their lives as a gift for those who may profit from their examples, their mistakes, their adventures and the uniqueness of their lives.
