The Interleaved Journaling Bible: The Complete Book of John is in the BSB version. It is interleaved, meaning that each two page spread contains an empty page for study and journaling notes. This is a size 12, easy to read font. The thicker pages are great for most mediums. Super durable cover and convenient size. The Berean Study Bible (BSB) is a completely new English translation of the Holy Bible, effective for public reading, study, memorization, and evangelism. Based on the best available manuscripts and sources, each word is connected back to the Greek or Hebrew text to produce a transparent text that can be studied for its root meanings. This printing contains the full BSB text, footnotes, section headings, and cross references. This includes the full text of the Book of John, plus cross-references, and footnotes. In my Bible study classes I teach a process called Unfolding Truth™ which helps you dig deeper into the Word of God. It is very similar to 'verse mapping,' which if you have heard of the term, can be done in many ways. These are the seven steps to Unfolding Truth™ that I suggest you use in order to study the Bible in-depth: Observe the facts or create the scene by taking notes on what you read. Look for the main people and things and then add the important supporting details to your notes. Hint: If it’s repeated, it’s important. Figure out what the words meant then, (to the original audience) and now, (to you and I) by clarifying the word meanings in Greek (and in English if necessary) and comparing word (or phrase) usage in other Bible translations. Find cross reference (or related verses) elsewhere in the Bible that will bring clarity and deeper meaning to the verses you are studying. Research reliable commentary by consulting the experts. 'Commentary' is a written explanation of the Bible passage by scholars. They are opinions, so be cautious. A good study Bible is a great form of commentary. There are also free resources online. Just make sure you know the beliefs of those whose comments you are reading. You can easily use www.biblehub.com for all these steps. Summarize what you learned by concluding your findings and writing the most important lessons you learned. At the end of your study time write a prayer and let God know what you learned and how you plan to commit the changes to your life, for His glory. I often use the ACTS acronym as a guide for my Bible study prayer. Hopefully this will help you too. A is for adoration (what did I learn that I can praise God for?) C is for confession (what did God tug at my heart about that I need to be doing and am not, or that I am doing and need to stop?) T is for thanksgiving (what did I learn that I can thank God for?) S is for supplication (what did I learn that I need God's help with?) Remember the MOST IMPORTANT part of Bible study is God; growing closer to Him, becoming more like Christ, and learning to walk in the Spirit and not the flesh.
