Leviticus - 7574

Dr. Hastings calls the book of Leviticus the “Driver’s Training Manual for All Things Pertaining to the Nation of Israel.” Everything in the rest of the Bible must be viewed in light of the book of Leviticus. While all the people of the world around the Nation of Israel were basically barbaric, the LORD delivered Leviticus to tell Israel’s people how to be holy and righteous. They were to be a people different from the rest of the world. In Leviticus, the LORD tells us what is and what is not sin. He forbids the Israelites to enslave people, unlike the other countries of the world. He gives extra special protections to women, unlike all the other countries. He provides the moral laws, which, 1500 years later, after the Day of Pentecost, will be adopted into Common Law wherever the Jews and Christians establish Churches and evangelize the Gentile world. Leviticus comes alive in this commentary. Once you grasp the LORD’s laws, you will understand why all the rest of the Bible says what it says and requires what it requires. Like a driver’s training manual, it teaches you how to maneuver the streets of life and pages of the Bible. The chapters in this commentary match the chapters in your Bible.
