Born in the world-renowned Harlem, New York (Burrough of Manhattan). Raised in the Scudder Homes Projects on Mercer Street aka Murder Street, in Newark, New Jersey. This is my story, this is my song! Some might call it an autobiography, others my memoir, I call it my "Legacy!" Details on my journey through the hardcore streets of Harlem before the 4th grade. Then my family moved to the largest city in New Jersey - Newark. A tough town where the murder rate for young Black males is always among the highest in America and the world! This is my true, unabridged story, of how I survived, while 100's of thousands around me did not. The book is entitled "NAOMI'S SON!!!" because growing up in the projects could be deadly. Luckily, many times I escaped dangers because everyone knew my beautiful mother. She was my hedge of protection! They would say: "You're Mrs. Paden's son" and that would be my protection against dangers seen & unseen! This book attempts to detail the 'trials & tribulations' I experienced while on life's journey. I am now Chief Executive Officer of my own multi-faceted consultation company. Retired HUD Housing Choice Voucher Inspections Supervisor. World Traveler. Father of 6 grown and productive college educated children. Grandfather to 25 grandchildren, some who are now also college graduates. Great grandfather to 15 (at last count) great grandchildren. This book is my legacy to them. IT IS HOW I GOT OVER!!!
