In its introduction, this colourfully illustrated bilingual Igbo-English book talks about the multiple dialects and the tonal nature of the Igbo language. It mentions words that have the same spellings but have different meanings and how the pronunciation of these words brings out their meaning. It goes on to list the Igbo alphabet in both capital and small letters and points out the similarity between English and Igbo phonic sounds; a similarity which makes it easy for English speakers to easily speak the Igbo language. The book is based on some of the daily activities of three children, their parents and their friends. The children are seen doing chores at home, helping their mother in the kitchen, and socialising with their friends. The activities of the children have been translated into Igbo texts and then illustrated to make it easy and fun to learn the language. The Igbo words, phrases and their translations into English are introduced one step at a time so that the reader will first of all, become familiar with these Igbo words and their meaning in English before they are gradually built into simple sentences.
