Recipes from the Heart of Dixie - 4138

This book is a collection of favorite recipes from members of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Some of these recipes have been handed down for generations; even back to our pioneer ancestors, and many we got from watching our mothers and grandmothers prepare meals and those oh so special desserts. Some of these recipes have never been written down, simply passed down, sometimes by trial and error, from generation to generation. Through this book we would like to share our recipes, some of them a secret until now, with our fellow bakers and cooks, as well as friends and family. We have included several recipes for dishes that are somewhat unique to Utah: Frog Eye Salad, Funeral Potatoes, Green Jello Salad, Ambrosia Salad and anything made in a Dutch oven or crock pot. Dixie Salad, a recipe that is unique to Southern Utah is also included.
