In “The Great Surreptitious Coup,” Former US Congressman and three-time US presidential candidate Ron Paul documents America’s distinct and worrisome departure from the values of our Founding Fathers and the Enlightenment ideals they embraced. Dr. Paul traces the origins of Western Civilization all the way back to Sumeria and on the way stops in on Genghis Khan for a look at the importance of the pursuit of truth on civilization’s path toward progress.
Dr. Paul pin-points the decline of Western Civilization to the “Progressive” era, which originated the “war on truth” and the rise of nihilism. He views our current nihilism-infected society to be the product of a “coup” against the origins of the United States. He writes, “The Coup’s goal was to replace our current political and economic system, which was built on knowledge accumulated over many centuries and inspired by the principles of personal liberty and natural law as guides for advancing civilization.”
The rise of the “national security state” to usurp the American republic was a key component in the coup and the culmination of that rise was the murder of JFK, RFK, and Martin Luther King by US deep state actors.
Finally, Dr. Paul provides us a way out of the mess that has been created by the surreptitious coup and the rise of truth-hating nihilism. It will not be an easy road to follow, but, as he writes, “With the right leaders, nihilism will be rejected and the higher law of truth will emerge.”
