The Land Of The Bible: From Eden To Heaven - 4611

I recently had a meeting with a dear friend from my childhood days. It was a wonderful time as we reflected on the world we grew up in as kids. It is a huge understatement to say that the world is different today than it was back then. Whenever my memories carry me back to those thrilling days of yesteryear, there is one thought that I consistently have. I am amazed at how the journey of my life has unfolded. I grew up in a Christian home with my Dad being a Pastor. You pick up a considerable understanding of the Bible just from constant exposure to the Word of God. However, I never imagined as a child that one day, I would be able to visit so many of the places that I read about in the Bible. To walk in the steps of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob from Old Testament days to walking in the steps of Jesus from New Testament days. Visiting the town of Bethlehem, being baptized in the Jordan River, walking the streets of Jerusalem, and standing on top of the Mount of Olives where Jesus ascended into heaven; these were places I could only dream about as a child. And yet, in His divine providence, God has allowed me to visit these and numerous other sites on several occasions. This study began due to my love of the Bible and history. It combines the two with historical information about several places my travels have carried me along with the more important spiritual lessons we can learn from what happened at each location. The intricate way that each place, and the events of that place, are so precisely connected throughout the Bible could not have been concocted in the minds of mere mortal men.
