A nice edition with three of Kipling's well-known stories and 16 illustrations. The Man Who Would Be King is about two British adventurers, Daniel Dravot and Peachey Carnehan, in British India who become kings of Kafiristan, a remote part of Afghanistan. Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was published in the 1894 anthology The Jungle Book. It follows the adventures of a valiant young Indian gray mongoose named Rikki-Tikki-Tavi as he becomes the pet of a British family in India as protection against cobras. Without Benefit of Clergy is the story of a young English engineer in India who falls in love with the native girl Ameera, buying her from her mother. Most of the illustrations are for the Rikki-Tikki-Tavi story.
