The New Beginnings Series: Meet the Survivors - 8722

NEW BEGINNINGS is a collection of personal testimonies shared by those who have endured hardship, mistreatment, abuse, and incarceration. This work is a small part of the entire process of each one's quest for a New Beginning. These stories were first shared on a worldwide weekly radio broadcast which allows brave survivors such as these to stand on a platform, share their journeys, and bear their souls as they come out of the darkness and into the light. For most of the guests, it was their very first time to open up and share. The show actually became their new beginnings as they express the desire to help others who listen around the world. Many are unaware of the fact that survivors of these experiences are often sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and struggle to adjust to society or interact with people effectively. Unfortunately, many of them go to their graves bearing their secrets and their deeply hidden shame. Theses who have had the opportunity to share often report that they hear from family members with encouragement or reconciliation. But often, it’s the feedback of the audience that brings us all to tears. When the show is advertised on social media, the audience provides feedback from around the world. After the show, even more feedback floods in as listeners share how blessed they were to hear true survivor stories. Many say they have experienced similar ordeals, and the show has given them courage to accept the reality of their plights, to acknowledge the pain of it, and to prepare to move forward with their own lives. Each of these stories were shared during the 2021-2022 broadcast season. The decision was made to compile all the stories and to share them in one complete volume. The struggles they encountered in their lives range from domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, grief from tragic loss of loved ones, crime, drug abuse, and prison. The selection for candidates to interview was based on the prospect of a new beginning. While everyone has a story, in order to be on the show, one has to have chosen a new path to victory, deliverance and success.
