Waking Up To a New Person - 1692

From the outside, looking in, many people think that they know an individual. And although they may know them, most times, they don’t know their story. No one really knows or understands what an individual is going through deep within, until they take the time to “listen”. Many of us, men and women, are struggling with so much trauma and turmoil but we haven’t taken the necessary steps to heal from it. Some of us don’t know how, some of us are scared, and some of us are so comfortable with being uncomfortable that we don’t think the change is necessary. In this personal journey of mine, filled with indifferent pain, it took some time, therapy, prayer, lots of tears, and waking up to my new person, to acknowledge my internal agony and to discover that there were more hidden pieces of me, regardless, of what the world thinks. According to “them”, I was the golden child, and I lived my best life. But little did they know, pain, sadness, depression, anxiety, fear, and uncertainty filled me. Filled me to the point of unconsciousness. Throughout my journey, I was asleep for a while, not understanding where life was taking me. In December, I woke up to a new person. The person who I am now! The one who’s fighting to be free from trauma, deeply rooted scars, generational curses, cycles, bondage, and everything that comes with it. The important part is, I understand that life won’t always be as sweet as fried ice cream, but I now have the knowledge, wisdom, and resources to deal with life’s situations when they arise. I am holding onto my strength, resilience, & virtuous woman qualities to stand my ground as the “Queen”, that I am.
